Hoot Owl Loop
Residential Multiuse Trail Network
With over 30 acres of land, much of which lay dormant, our client dreamt up a network of hiking trails that could be accessed right from their back door. We saw their vision and built this trail system to complement the hidden treasures we found in our site visit. Features such as a mossy "highway", an old stonewall, an ephemeral stream, and a stunning lookout all served as points of interest along the trail. Our trail design also highlights different micro environments found throughout the property- from rolling hills to pristine marshland and bucolic meadows to a deep pine forest. We also added a raised “bog bridge” to protect the marshland and enhance the hiking experience. Our clients longed to spend more time in nature with their children and to maximize the use of their property. We helped them achieve those goals and opened up the doors to endless discovery and possibility in their own backyard.
