Building Connections
Hudson Valley Trailworks is a worker-owned cooperative of friends and family who create trails that connect communities in and around the Hudson Valley, NY.
We collaboratively work with individuals and organizations to develop and maintain environmentally friendly and sustainable trail projects of all sizes on private and public lands.
Meet the Team…
Toni Benevento
Microexplorer - Small Biz Wiz
After spending her formative years bouncing around the East Coast, Toni escaped to the desert southwest, where the public lands and sunshine don't quit. She developed a deep appreciation for the vast and wild landscapes through friends who took her mountain biking, trail running, climbing, and just plain old wandering. These adventures sparked a desire to learn more about the incredible gift of public lands and the vital connection between recreation, conservation, and community. Toni witnessed firsthand how shared outdoor experiences on public lands foster connection and a new way of thinking about stewardship.
When the pandemic brought her back East, the pressing need to create opportunities for folks to gather in nature became a seed for Hudson Valley Trailworks. With a background in city planning, nonprofits, and education, Toni brings curiosity, adaptability, and passion to her roles. Though she once envisioned a lifelong career in libraries, life’s twists and turns led her to the outdoors, where she now combines her organizational skills and love of nature to support every HVT project.

Eric Hennessey
Biking Nomad - Jack of All Trails
Eric Hennessey has spent the past 20 years exploring the world on two wheels, chasing adventures, forging friendships, and soaking in breathtaking landscapes. Now rooted in Gardiner, NY, he’s fallen in love with the Hudson Valley and its endless outdoor possibilities.
Growing up, he was knee-deep in mud and adrenaline, competing in motocross races that tested his limits and built a love for riding that still fuels him today. Those years of twists turns, and a few minor crashes taught him more than just how to ride—they forged lifelong bonds. Sharing the ups and downs of the sport helped shape his understanding that sometimes, the sacrifices you make for your passion bring you closer.
With a deep appreciation for the trails and natural beauty that surround him, Eric’s mission is to create trails that connect people to the wild just outside their doors. Whether you run, ride, or roll, his passion lies in designing trails that inspire you to step away from the screen, immerse yourself in nature, and truly enjoy the journey.
